Sue Carson Managing Director and Chief Scientist
Sue has more than 25 years of experience with management and analysis of
forestry field research trials including extensive experience with genetic
trials and growth monitoring plots. Sue holds a PhD in forest genetics from
North Carolina State University and has worked for government research
organisations in the USA and New Zealand, as well as large forestry corporates
around the world. Sue is also experienced in managing technical teams, as well
as in starting and managing several successful business ventures.
Merlin McKenzie Software Development Manager
Merlin holds a B.Sc in mathematics from Canterbury University,
and an MS in computer science from Purdue University. As a scientist
at the NZ Forest Research Institute (now Scion) he specialised in
development of software and systems for the commercial forestry
sector, including the MARVL system for pre-harvest
inventory and some of NZ’s first database applications for
management of plantation forestry. He subsequently became
Information Systems Manager at the Institute.
In 1997, Merlin established Centralis, a company specialising in corporate information systems design and development.
Judy Hayes - Chief Data Administrator
Judy has extensive experience in database administration and trial management and
has managed large databases at both government and private companies for over
25 years. Judy has a BSc in Biological Science from Victoria University.
